The gram panchayat is responsible for water supply, sanitation, roads, streetlights, birth and death registration, tax collection and carrying out government schemes in the village. The sarpanch chairs the Gram Sabha and carries out its decisions. The upsarpanch assists the sarpanch. Members raise the concerns of their wards. The gramsevak looks after office work, records and accounts.
